Use Case #1:

Remote music training UC implements 5G solutions for live jam sessions and training enabled by increased data transmission rate, lower latency, and integrated innovative tolls with spatial audio solutions for advanced and remote connection during music training activities
Music plays a crucial role in university students’ artistic, cultural, and professional engagement. Research shows that students in technical and scientific fields are often highly involved in playing musical instruments, driving the fusion of technology and artistry. With rising demand for low-latency connectivity in remote rehearsals and performances, the Music and Acoustic Engineering program at Politecnico di Milano explores these challenges across its Leonardo and Cremona campuses. The project aims to develop specialized 5G remote connection tools, integrating advanced equipment with standard musical instruments to enhance practice and recording sessions.
The transformative capabilities of 5G are poised to revolutionize the music industry by fostering immersive experiences, reshaping interactions among professionals, promoting global collaborations, improving accessibility, and introducing innovative monetization models. 5G’s high-data speeds and ultra-low latency becomes a crucial asset for musicians, technicians and all other professionals involved in the music industry, enabling real-time streaming, real-time collaboration worldwide, broadening accessibility for a more extensive audience, enabling remote rehearsals and events. The reliability of 5G connections ensures uninterrupted online collaborations, enhancing musical and exhibition experiences.
The objective of this UC is to develop specialized 5G remote connection tools specifically designed for musical activities. These tools will involve specialized equipment from technology partners, capable of seamless integration with standard instruments used during practice and recording sessions.
